A Quiet Place Part II (2021)

The sequel to A Quiet Place starts with a flashback that shows the arrival of the noise-chasing monsters, but then soon picks up directly where that first movie left off, with a mom and her kids (including a newborn baby) hiking to find supplies and maybe even some help.

It was the first movie I’d seen in a theater since the pandemic lockdowns started. Definitely reminded me of the beauty of an in-cinema experience, where we’re all holding our breath, gasping, or shouting “HOLY CRAP” at various moments.

If you loved the original movie, you should enjoy A Quiet Place Part II. But there are certain points where you may, like me, wish mom worked out some kind of snorkel for the baby’s portable panic room instead of relying on an exhaustible oxygen supply.

A few quibbles aside, it’s definitely worth your attention.
