Willy’s Wonderland (2021)

If you’ve ever played the Five Nights at Freddy’s video game, you’ll know exactly what you’re in for with this absolutely ludicrous horror flick. Willy’s Wonderland is what happens when you mix Rambo with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, and add a touch of Friday the 13th.

We never hear Nicolas Cage – star of the film – utter a word of dialogue. All we get are grunts and sighs and stares as he struggles to survive the night in a run-down pizza arcade, beat the score on a dusty pinball game, and complete his task of cleaning the place between guzzling cans of PUNCH energy drink.

Because he never talks, all the movie’s exposition comes from the townsfolk – particularly the sheriff (played by Beth Grant) and a handful of (presumably) teenagers who mostly serve as bait to be bloodied while Cage kicks audioanimatronic ass.

The movie’s story makes little sense, but that’s fine. It’s well executed and fun. Certainly worth your attention (but keep kids away – it’s way too violent)!
