March 23, 1952: Kim Stanley Robinson

On this day in 1952, author Kim Stanley Robinson was born in Waukegan, Ill. He’s written 19 novels (so far) and many short stories, but he’s most famous for his Mars series of books (Red Mars, Blue Mars, and Green Mars). Many of his works explore themes involving ecology and sustainability.
