Feb. 4, 1940: George Romero

On this day in 1940, filmmaker George Romero was born in New York City. He’s most famous for spawning the popular zombie movie genre with his Night of the Living Dead films. He died of lung cancer in 2017 while listening to the score of The Quiet Man, one of his favorite movies.
