Jan. 27, 1967: Apollo I Capsule Fire

On this day in 1967, NASA astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White II, and Roger Chaffee died when a fire erupted in the Apollo I capsule during a pre-launch test for what would have been the first manned Apollo flight.
