Jan. 10, 1927: Premiere of “Metropolis”

On this day in 1927, Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis” makes its debut in Germany. It’s a dystopian sci-fi story about the struggle to overcome differences between classes in the city, with the final message of the silent film being “The Mediator Between the Head and the Hands Must Be the Heart.”
